Sir David Frost: pioneer of the news ‘grilling’ dies


Sir David Frost. To some, the doddery old man who peered through the keyhole. For others, company over breakfast as he ushered in the day with a cheerful hello, good morning and welcome on the sprawling sofas at tvam.

But he should be remembered as a brilliant, pioneer of news programming. A clever, diligent and persistent interviewer. A journalist, broadcaster and trailblazer who not just helped carve a path for television news as we know it today, but walked it too.
