New York Times testing tool for capturing Tweet-liners

How often does it happen? You read an article or Tweet where there’s one nugget that just leaps off the page at you. It demands to be shared. You want to observe social media etiquette and credit the source. But the headline and link just doesn’t capture the essence of what it is you want to share.

Then you might be interested in reading this blog by Twitter datajournalist and data editor Simon Rogers which tells how the New York Times has been experimenting with a new user friendly tool which allows readers to self select lines they want to highlight.
