Scottish Sun announces Scottish Daily Mail deputy as new editor

ANDY Harries has been named new editor of the Scottish Sun.

He is expected to make the move from his role as deputy editor at the Scottish Daily Mail within a matter of weeks starting at News International mid-October.

It follows the elevation of current editor David Dinsmore to a more senior management role overseeing the continued development of the Scottish Sun, Scottish News of the World, The Times Scotland and Sunday Times Scotland announced previously.

Harries, who has worked for most of Scotland's major papers, is expected to have a few weeks off before starting his new role.

Friends described him as being "delighted" at the role which will of course lead to speculation as to who will be promoted within Associated.
