Mark Thompson Sets Out BBC’s Defence Of Funding Model

THE BBC Director General Mark Thompson had a fair bit to say about the future changes facing his publicly funded organisation on the corporation's Andrew Marr show this morning, including much about changes to his worker's final pension scheme.

But I think there was much more in his words beneath the smoke screen of that and other headline grabbing chat about the pay of its top earners.

Not least his claim that he welcomes strong newspaper organisations with a robust and sound business model.
