Having previously been a senior online producer for Gannett/NBC in Knoxville and a blogger for seven years, it’s a question that demands attention.
She says that since the Facebook/Twitter revolution, the tit bits she used to post to her blog – the sparkly bits as she calls them – have gone, while the traffic has still increased.
What has reduced is the number of comments as people switch to proffering opinion on their own micro-blogging portal of choice.
In fact she says that her traffic growth is now largely driven by Twitter and Facebook as opposed to search engines which used to rule the roost, causing her to examine her whole SEO strategy.
Is that something others need to look at too?
