It seems that the massive Mirrorpix Archives are about to be published in part thanks to a 16-book publishing deal.
Choosing from 50 million images stored by the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror, The People, Daily Record, Sunday Mail and The Daily Herald, they cover more than a century of news and sports photography.
According to a piece by Photo Archive News they will be used in high quality books to be published by Haynes Publishing with the Mirror Group as part of a two year deal.
Topics will include 'When Football Was Football" and "Pop" starting in 2009.
Trinity Mirror Nationals managing director Mark Hollinshead is quoted as saying the deal would be "doing justice" to the Mirrorpix collections.
Author Richard Havers has been appointed consulting editor.
