HeadLine: Two face trial over Celts ace

The Mirror, 12/06/2003, p8

CELTIC star Neil Lennon is expected to give evidence against two men
accused of carrying out a sectarian attack on him.
Neil MacLeod and Gregg Miller will go on trial in September for the
alleged attack in Glasgow’s West End.
Neither of the two men were at Glasgow Sheriff Court for a preminary
hearing yesterday.
An arrest warrant was issued for MacLeod, 19, of Hyndland, Glasgow,
after he failed to turn up.
Student Miller, 20, from Rubislaw, Aberdeen, tendered a plea of not
guilty by letter to a range of charges.
Both are charged with shouting sectarian remarks and committing a
breach of the peace in Glasgow’s Great Western Road on May 8.
The pair are also alleged to have assaulted Northern Ireland
international Lennon by spitting on him, kicking and punching him on
the body and butting him on the face to his injury.
Sheriff Shiona Waldron set the trial for September.
