A MAN who walked into a police station and blasted a constable with a
shotgun was being hunted last night.
Pc John Cunningham, 53, who is married with two daughters, was hit in
the side.
He was said to be conscious, but seriously ill after the incident at
Shettleston, Glasgow.
Armed police arrested four people in a swoop on an address just 500
yards from the station.
They were later released without charge.
Senior detectives condemned the shooting as “despicable”.
Assistant Chief Constable Ricky Gray said: “There is no apparent motive
at this time.”
The gunman is said to be about 20 with short, dark hair. He wore a
camouflage jacket and dark clothing.
