CONTROVERSIAL rapper Eminem bowed out of Scotland under a cloud last
night after he allegedly attacked a photographer outside his hotel.
Snapper Ross McDairmant said he was left stunned after the star hit him
with a bottle.
Eminem – real name Marshall Mathers – allegedly battered him about the
face with the plastic water bottle before being dragged away by a
minder.
Last night Ross, 25, said he was still in a state of shock. He said: “I
couldn’t believe it. I was standing there trying to get a picture of
him when he went crazy and came at me.
“He had a big, plastic bottle and he swung it right at me. I’ve been
left with bruises on my face and neck. I thought he was going to throw
it at me at one point.
He looked like he was absolutely raging.”
It was understood that the hotel also received complaints from other
photographers that Eminem’s security team had been too “robust”.
One snapper, who asked not to be named, said: “They were just totally
unprofessional It was more like watching Mike Tyson and his travelling
circus than a rap star.”
Eminem left the hotel surrounded by minders to the sound of screaming
fans. And the star of Eight Mile, who played to a capacity crowd at
Hampden on Tuesday night, broke away to thank his fans.
Autographs with his alter ego “Slim Shady” on them were handed out by
his security. Dozens of disappointed fans who had waited most of the
day were delighted when as he publicly thanked them.
He said: “I just want to tell all you people a big thanks for your
support and I hope it ain’t too long before I’m back.”
