POLICE were last night hunting a race hate gang after a Chinese
teenager was stabbed in the back.
Thugs pounced on the youngster in St Andrew’s Square, Edinburgh.
The terrified 18-year-old tried to escape from the men who were
swearing at him and calling him “chinky”.
But they punched him to the ground over and over again as he tried to
reach a taxi.
A man rushed to help the youngster and tried to hold back two of the
attackers but he could do nothing as the third thug knifed the teenager
twice in the upper arm and lower back.
The horrifying attack only ended when staff from a bar intervened, and
the attackers and a woman walked off.
Their young victim was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and detained
A police spokesman said: “The fact that this man is targeted purely
because of his race is abhorrent.”
