HeadLine: BUS THUGS’ BOTTLE ATTACK ON BOY, 15

A SCHOOLBOY was battered over the head with a glass beer bottle by a
gang of vicious thugs who terrorised a night bus.
The dazed 15-year-old was left bruised and bleeding after being set
upon by the four men and a woman, before they fled into the night.
The teenager – who hasn’t been named – was going into Edinburgh from
Musselburgh when the gang struck in the city’s London Road.
He was left terrified during the journey when the gang subjected him to
a barrage of threats and abuse.
But, unable to escape, he could do little when one of the men grabbed
an empty bottle and started hitting him over the head before leaving
him in a heap.
The boy needed treatment to his wounds and had x-rays to ensure there
was no more serious damage caused in the brutal assault.
A police spokesman said: “This is an unprovoked attack on an innocent
member of the public who was just travelling on the bus.
“It is extremely fortunate that the victim’s injuries were not more
It’s just the latest in a string of attacks on Edinburgh’s buses in
recent weeks, but police said there was nothing to suggest they were in
any way linked.
Despite his terrifying ordeal, the brave teenager was able to give
police good descriptions of his brutal attackers.
